Enric Duran aka Robin Bank, actions and publications

Enric Duran aka Robin Bank presented a new publication on the crisis entitled “We can live without capitalism” and then was arrested in Barcelona. Enric Duran is the Catalan activist that in September made public an action of bank disobedience. “I have ‘robbed’ 492,000 euros from those who rob us blind, in order to denounce them and build an alternative for society”, he declared.

On 17 march 2009 around 18.00 h, the Catalan police forces, the mossos  d’esquadra, arrested Enric Duran on the premises of the rectorate of the Barcelona University. The support group of Enric Duran severely stigmatizes the fact that police forces have again violated university premises, reviving a tradition of the dictatorial past of the Spanish State.

Enric Duran appeared in public the 16 march 2009, during a press conference for the presentation of the publication “Podem” (We can), of which 200.000 copies in Catalan and 150.000 copies in Spanish have been distributed on the 17 march in Catalonia and the rest of Spanish State.

Podem” follows up “Crisi”, the publication that was released on 17 September last year, where Enric Duran announced his disobedience towards banks and other financial entities. Enric claimed his action was a form of rebellion.

“Podem” magazine includes many articles and useful information about the crisis and how to resist to it. “Podem” is available here in different languages: http://podem.cat
